Totally self taught with each new painting being another learning curve.

As you can see I do not specialize in any particular genre at the moment as I enjoy painting whatever comes to mind, sometimes I will get an idea and expand it into a series which can be fun, at other times I will paint something just to see if I can.

I do love doing abstracts though as it involves so many different ways you can use and manipulate paint and as you never know exactly what the paint is going to do until it does it each new painting is unique, as how the bottom layers form is what dictates what I do to the upper layers.

I also love to use colour which is why so many of my landscapes are sunsets

Another surface I like to paint on is silk usually crepe as it holds the dye well and once set the colours are so bright and vibrant, plus you can get so many great effects using simple household products like salt and sugar making each piece I do like a journey into the unknown...

I not only create on canvas and silk, but I also enjoy making jewellery, usually one off pieces using a particularly nice or different stone or piece of Dichoric glass, I work primarily in silver...although if the piece calls for it I will use gold...either sterling silver or silver clay which is great for moulding and sculpting which once fired is a lovely pure fine silver, I do a lot of beading as well using semi precious gemstone beads and pearls, I also enjoy using fimo which is an acrylic based polymer again great for moulding sculpting etc, most of the heads in the warrior pendant series are made from fimo.

On a personal level I have come to this later in life but not late IN life (don’t ask my age and I won’t have to lie) first as hobbies and now following prompting from family, friends and people in the know I have decided to make a career of it hence this site…..I would also like to find a gallery or two to represent me...
